8 oz Great Northern Beans
½ cup Vegetable Broth
½ cup Red Wine
8 oz onion (large, cut into chunks)
3 oz crushed tomatoes
5 oz carrots (medium, sliced into ½” pieces)
1 tbsp Thyme
½ teaspoon Allspice
dash of Salt and Pepper
1 bunch Broccolini
- Rinse the beans and place in a large pot with enough water to cover on medium heat. Simmer for about 20 minutes and drain.
- Return the beans to the pot and add wine, vegetable broth, tomatoes and tied herbs. Cover and cook for about two hours on a low flame.
- Once the beans are done cooking, grill or sear the brat. Meanwhile, sauté or blanch the broccolini.
- Slice the brat, season broccolini, plate and serve.
